The True Confessions Issue
In today’s celebrity-obsessed culture it’s easy to forget that celebrities don’t have the benefit of privacy to keep themselves from seeming crazy. We scan the tabloids for the latest Britney Spears incident, and it makes us feel better to know that at least our lives aren’t quite that dramatic. Honestly, if I had paparazzi following me everywhere I went, I’d probably come off as crazy, too. I can just picture the headlines: “skirt! editor answers cell phone at dinner! (How rude!)” or “skirt! editor drives in filth!” (Heaven forbid the paparazzi get a shot of my well-lived-in car with nose smudges on the back windows from my dogs.) I’m not perfect, but luckily, I have the ability to keep some of my flaws (like my love for diet soda and corndogs) from becoming common knowledge. Unless, that is, I write about it myself—or I manage to find women brave enough to share some secrets with me. In this issue, you’ll find out about the secret lives of a dog-lover, a nighttime news anchor, a dermatologist, and an expatriate. Who knew women of the Queen City had so many great secrets to share?
