The smartest woman I know: My stepmother, Donna Ashcraft.
My theme song: “No Day but Today” from Rent
If I had a vanity plate on my car, it would say: ESTY’S MOM
The most important thing I ever lost: My mother died when I was 2 years old.
I never knew her, but am told I am a lot like her.
If I could do it all over again: I would have cloned myself and stayed home with
my daughter while the other me would have run my stores.
I wish I’d known: That motherhood is a privilege and children really want your time, not more toys.
What keeps me awake at night: Ideas of all the things I want to do and how to do them.
I am guilty of: Being a lettuce and linen snob.
Last major purchase: Private school tuition for my daughter.
My favorite body part: My hands.
My family: Mother of 13-year-old Esty Byrd, daughter of Pete Ashcraft, and sister to Scott & Blair Ashcraft.
My work: I work as a retail consultant from A to Z. I work with clients who want to open a new retail business as well as with established independent shop/business owners that need a “shot in the arm” or updating.
My favorite possession: I took an 18K gold charm bracelet and put my mother and grandmother’s rings on.
