Jason Landman is a tree-hugger.

Concern for the environment played a major role in Jason’s childhood—as a kid growing up in LA, Jason often had to play inside because of the high smog levels.

“It’s natural for me to want to do something to make (the environment) better. I’ve always been an outdoorsman kind of a guy,” he says. “What kid—boy or girl—doesn’t want to climb trees?”

Now, trees are his most numerous co-workers; just over five years ago Jason launched a tree service company, and his favorite workdays are spent nearly the same way he spent his childhood—climbing trees.

“I find that trees are so amazing as far as their diversity,” he says. “I’m still learning. There’s so much to understand (about trees). The more I take time to learn about them, the more they reveal to me.”

What’s your favorite thing about reading skirt!?: “It helps broaden my horizons.
It gives you a different perspective about what women are thinking about, and that helps me on the home front.”

And wearing a skirt?: “In the summertime it gets boiling hot out—I think a skirt would have a great cooling effect. It’s nice, like natural air conditioning.”
