My family: My husband Mark, our two teens Kelsey & Mitch, and Tiger (our Brittany Spaniel)
My favorite possession: My faith. It sustains me.
I’m thinking about: Food! (I’m hungry, as always.)
Words I live by: “The only journey is the one within.”
I am most proud of: My three books:
It Happened on the Oregon Trail, African American Women of the Old West, and
It Happened on the Underground Railroad.
One thing I never want to do again: Date! (I wasn’t good at it the first time.)
Right now I’m reading:
I’m Not Scared by Niccolo Ammaniti
Favorite web site: Mine. (Is that vain?) AuthorTalk.org
My favorite body part: My feet. (They have no freckles.)
I still can’t get the hang of: Typing. (How can an author type with only two fingers?)
I’d like to learn to: Speak Italian so I can retire in Italy.
The smartest women I know: My sisters Cathy & Beth. One is an attorney and the other is a pharmacist. I could never do what they do. (I like to think that my gift is my creativity.)
My first job: Selling Girl Scout cookies. (That’s why I never went into sales…)
Whose diary would you most like to read? Mary Magdalene. (I think there is more to her than history knows.)
