Nada lived in the United States for five years as a child, but spent the majority of her childhood in her native Italian city: Florence.
In 2001, she came back to the U.S. and discovered the love affair so many Americans have with Italy. “There’s such an interest here for Italy—the history, food, pasta—the culture,” she says. “A lot of people have a nostalgic view of Italy.”
Realizing her American friends had a real desire to experience Italy from a native’s perspective, Nada created Nada’s Italy, a company that offers tours of Italy (accompanied by Nada), plus Italian language lessons, travel seminars, events and more. Sharing her love of her country with others has given Nada a bigger appreciation for Italy.
“When you see it from afar, there are so many people who have an appreciation towards Italy,” she says. “For some reason I had this compulsion to carry the flag.”
