skirt! Charlotte’s office is in the wonderful SouthEnd neighborhood, home to the new light rail, several great boutiques and galleries, and close to almost everything.
SouthEnd’s proudest establishment, however, has to be Price’s Chicken Coop. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve described our office’s location by saying, “You know Price’s Chicken Coop? We’re just down the street. About a block or so away.”
Everyone knows Price’s fried chicken is the best. Everyone, that is, except for me. I’ve been in Charlotte for just about a year now, working a block away from the fried goodness that is Price’s, but I’d never eaten it.
Until today, that is. I realized I had cash in my wallet (a rare event), because Price’s doesn’t accept credit or debit cards or personal checks. Cara and I decided not to postpone a taste of Southern fried yumminess any longer. She ordered the fried shrimp dinner and I got a half-chicken of white and dark meat, both of which came with a biscuit, tater rounds, and cole slaw.
Behold:
Neither of us could finish our lunches, but now we’re both ready for an afternoon nap.
