Music to live by.

Tuesday, May, 20, 2008

For the past few months, we at skirt! Charlotte have been tuning into Pandora radio online. (Yours truly rockin as Miss DJ.) This online source for music, is pretty much XM radio, but on your computer. And the best part, its totally free!

You can create your own playlists according to a favorite band or singer. Pandora chooses that particular artist and those that are similar. We have created playlists for every genre of music to fit everyone in the office, from Paula Abdul, The Red Hot Chilli Peppers, and Michael Buble, to Modern Skirts, Phish, and The Beatles.

Our favorite list that brought us through deadline today is The Shins. Other artists that played within the list were Modest Mouse, Elliot Smith, Guster, and Weezer.

Thanks Pandora!

I wish we had musicovery like 10 years ago. (We didn't, right?) I used to make these mix tapes (yeah, tapes) according to my mood for driving. It took a lot of work recording off the radio, haha.~Sara

Agreed. The colors are trippy. I normally Pandora for my students, in order to torture them with classical music. It makes me giggle. The only adjustment I've made is equating my "dark" mood with "bitchy." For me, one and the same. :)

I love Pandora. I love my iPod as well, but I tend to get stuck in John Mayer, Dixie Chicks, and the like. However, because of Pandora, I've found the pleasures of Jack Johnson and my new fave, Jason Mraz. *sigh*
