“Textures of Nature”

Green Rice Gallery
451 E.36th St
Charlotte
In the NoDa District

704-344-0300, www.green-rice.com

September 4th – 27th, with a Meet the Artist’s Reception on Friday, September 4th from 7–9p.m.

As an artist, Susan Nuttall is continually excited by the properties of color, light and shadow as they reflect the image and her own sense of time, place and inner harmony. Using thumbnail sketches, she lays out an idea with a very rough notion of the compositional elements. Once satisfied that she has an idea worth pursuing, Susan begins her work.

Paying great attention to detail in the composition, she values all of the elements in any given work as she breathes life into each piece. Susan mostly uses the technique of texturing with oils, giving her paintings their very own style. All paintings are heavily textured to represent the different textures of nature and their colors.
